Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 May 2026. The Love Adventure is operated from Auckland, New Zealand. This policy is governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, with additional protections for visitors from the European Economic Area (GDPR) and California (CCPA).

Who we are

The Love Adventure is a relationship coaching, therapy, and adventure retreat business operated by Tarisha Tourok and Mark in Auckland, New Zealand. When this policy says “we”, “us”, or “our”, it means The Love Adventure.

What we collect

We collect information you give us directly: name, email, phone number, postal address, dietary requirements (for retreats), and any details you share when booking a session, joining a course, applying to a retreat, or sending us a message.

We collect information automatically when you visit the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location. This is collected via cookies and standard server logs.

If you join a couples therapy session, intensive, or retreat, we may collect additional sensitive information relevant to clinical care. That information is treated under the privacy obligations of registered counselling practice and is held separately from marketing data.

How we use it

We use your information to deliver the services you’ve asked for, communicate with you about your bookings, send the newsletter and email content you’ve subscribed to, improve the site, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights and yours.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies for the site to function (logging in, remembering preferences) and to understand how the site is used. We use Google Analytics for traffic data and may use Meta and Google advertising pixels to measure ad performance and show retargeted content if you’ve visited the site.

You can disable cookies in your browser at any time. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking with the official browser add-on, and out of personalised advertising via your Google and Meta account settings.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only the minimum required for them to do their job. These include:

  • GoPlus (white-label GoHighLevel, our CRM and email platform), based in the United States
  • Stripe, for payment processing
  • ThriveCart, for course and retreat checkouts
  • DreamHost / DreamPress, our website hosting (United States)
  • Cloudflare, content delivery and security
  • TidyCal, for booking discovery sessions and calls
  • Buzzsprout, for podcast distribution (where you’ve subscribed via the site)

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security obligations. We choose providers who use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest where applicable) and meet the security frameworks relevant to their service (e.g. PCI-DSS for Stripe).

We may also disclose information if legally required to do so (court order, lawful request from a regulator), or in the event of a sale or merger of the business, in which case we’d notify you in advance.

International transfers

Because some of our service providers are based in the United States, your information may be transferred to and stored on servers outside New Zealand. By using the site you agree to that transfer. If you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA, which we will honour.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that’s wrong
  • Delete your information from our systems (subject to legal record-keeping obligations, e.g. tax records)
  • Export your information in a portable format
  • Stop sending you marketing emails (every email also has a one-click unsubscribe link)
  • Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We aim to respond within 20 working days, which is the timeframe under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it. Marketing data is kept while you’re subscribed and for a reasonable period after unsubscribe (typically 12 months) for audit purposes. Booking and financial records are kept for the periods required by New Zealand tax and consumer protection law (currently seven years). Clinical session records are kept for the periods required by the relevant counselling and health-information codes.

Children

The Love Adventure is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we’ve inadvertently collected information from a minor, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will tell you when. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your data, we’ll let subscribers know by email before the change takes effect.
