Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 May 2026. By using theloveadventure.com or any of our services (courses, memberships, retreats, intensives, therapy, podcasts, newsletters), you agree to these terms. Read them. They’re written to be readable.

Who we are

The Love Adventure is operated from Auckland, New Zealand. These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and any dispute will be resolved in the New Zealand courts unless we agree otherwise.

Who can use the site

You need to be at least 18 to buy anything from us, book a session, or join a course or retreat. By using the site, you confirm you are.

What we offer (and what we don’t)

We offer relationship coaching, couples therapy, sex therapy, group courses, online memberships, in-person retreats, podcasts, and written content. Tarisha is a trained relationship and sex therapist, registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). Details of her training and registration are on the About page.

What we offer is educational and therapeutic in nature. It is not a substitute for crisis mental health care, medical treatment, or psychiatric services. If you’re in crisis, please contact your GP, a registered emergency mental-health service, or in New Zealand call or text 1737 for free, anytime.

Bookings, payment, and refunds

Prices on the site are in New Zealand dollars unless stated otherwise. Some products are listed in US dollars for our international audience.

Therapy and discovery sessions: sessions are paid for at the time of booking. Cancellations more than 48 hours in advance are fully refundable. Inside 48 hours, the full session fee is payable, except in genuine emergencies, which we’ll handle case by case.

Online courses and memberships: digital products are non-refundable once accessed, except where required by New Zealand consumer law. Memberships can be cancelled at any time after the minimum commitment period stated on the offering page (currently three months for the Roommates to Lovers Again membership). You’ll continue to have access until the end of your current paid period.

Retreats and intensives: a deposit secures your place; the balance is due 60 days before the retreat starts. Cancellation more than 90 days before the retreat: full refund less a NZ$200 administration fee. 60 to 89 days: 50% refund. Less than 60 days: no refund, but we’ll work with you in good faith on a credit toward a future retreat. Travel insurance covering cancellation is required.

Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986, which override anything inconsistent in these terms.

Your account and conduct

If you create an account on the site or in a course platform, you’re responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything that happens under your account.

In group settings (memberships, retreats, courses), you agree to treat other participants and facilitators with respect. We reserve the right to remove anyone whose behaviour is harmful, harassing, or repeatedly disruptive, without refund.

Intellectual property

All content on this site (writing, photography, video, audio, course materials, the brand mark) is owned by The Love Adventure or used with permission. You can read it, share short excerpts with attribution, and link to it. You can’t copy entire articles, course modules, or photographs for republication without our written permission.

If you buy a course or membership, you have a personal, non-transferable licence to use the materials. Don’t redistribute them or share login credentials.

Confidentiality

What’s shared in a therapy session, intensive, retreat, or membership circle stays in that container. We expect the same of you: don’t repeat what you hear from other participants outside the group. Standard exceptions apply where harm to self or others is disclosed; we’ll tell you about those at the start of any clinical work.

Liability

We do everything we reasonably can to make our services valuable, safe, and as described. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of using the site or our services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Adventure activities (hiking, mountain biking, helicopter flights) carry inherent physical risks. By participating, you accept those risks. We require all retreat participants to hold travel insurance covering medical and adventure-activity claims.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when. If a change materially affects your rights, we’ll let registered customers know by email.
